As
the Royal Monarch bellows his call, his majestic voice echoes in a ghost
like tone throughout the valley. The bull's bugle starts with a low stirring
note, gradually becoming higher in pitch, and ending in a shrill scream
and grunts. Taking advantage of the mighty bulls distraction, the native
hunter silently stalk their prize. Last call of the Monarch portrays a scene, years ago when virgin forests and grassy meadow stretched over the East. There lived an animal that the Shawnee called "Wapiti", the settlers named "ELK". Roaming in great numbers through the Eastern Territory, these majestic creatures moved through the dark woods like ghosts; their bugling resounded off the mountains every autumn. |
